One of our earliest respondents to our request to interview the UK’s leading e-learning companies was David Croom of Nelson Croom. Nelson Croom are an interesting company who appear to have found their niche in the market from the publishers perspective.
David provided me with a valuable insight into how e-learning is being used by the many professional bodies here in the UK and Ireland. Indeed such is the depth of the market that Nelson Croom services that I confess to never having heard of many of them!
However, it is very encouraging to know that despite the “eclectic nature” of the many professional bodies David provides e-learning to, that e-learning has been found to be of great value in supporting their members in continuing professional development.
David’s view of the overall e-learning market was one of guarded optimism, seeing steady progress in levels of adoption, with time saving and flexibility being key measures of success from his clients perspective.
David paid tribute to the many learning visionaries amongst his client base who have driven through the change to adopting e-learning in many of their otherwise quite conservative organisations.
We will publish our research with synthesis from over 40 of the UK’s leading companies on www.e-learningcentre.co.uk in November 2010
